Don't Believe Everything You Think by Joseph Nguyen
This book is basically about positive thinking. If something you are thinking is not making you feel better; is not making your life better in any way...stop that thinking. Nguyen is better at explaining it all than I am, but that is the bottom line. He talks about all the other things he has tried to better his life from all the negative and what he writes in his book is what he's found to work the best.
Yes, he even talks about how we can't stop ourselves sometimes from the negative thinking, but we need to eventually let it go. We shouldn't hold onto it.
It is a short read, even for the expanded edition that I bought, but it was well worth it. A book a person can read several times and each time get something new from it and remind themselves to think positively and to better their life for themselves.
You are the only one living your own life, walking in your own steps, thinking your own thoughts; no one else. So live your life in a way that makes it better for you, not for other people. I could expand on that, but I won't. I will say don't make other people's lives worse intentionally just to make yours better. That doesn't really help anyone in the end.
